Multi-Vehicle Accident With Injuries

Summit Township, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 14:

WHAT:                      

• Multi-Vehicle accident with injuries

WHERE: 

• Lake Sara Road at Moccasin Road – Summit Township

WHEN:

• April 5 at 12:31pm

VEHICLE:

• Unit 1– White 1997 Ford F-150
• Unit 2 – Tan 1996 Toyota Corolla

DRIVER:                   

• Unit 1- Kenneth C. Bonroe, 70, of Marion
• Unit 2 – Emily J. Arnold, 49, of Effingham

PRELIMINARY:      

• Unit 2 was southbound on Lake Sara Road and stopped at the intersection of Moccasin Road. Unit 3 was also southbound and stopped in traffic behind Unit 2. Unit 1 was northbound at the same intersection. Unit 1 travelled through the intersection and entered the southbound lane of travel. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 on the driver’s side before striking Unit 3 on the driver’s side. Unit 1 went off the road into the west ditch, striking the embankment. The driver of Unit 1 was partially ejected upon striking the ditch/embankment.

CITATIONS

• Unit 2 – Driving while license revoked
