Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- A new report from the Illinois’ governor’s office says the state will need to find three billion-dollars more each year just to keep-up with government expenses.
The Governor’s Office of Management and Budget this week released a budget forecast for the next five years.
The report says state government will need to either raise taxes or make major cuts to balance the state budget.
That three billion doesn’t include money to pay down the state’s nearly eight billion-dollars in unpaid bills.
