Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is asking deer hunters to help track down EHD cases this fall.
The state says this year’s Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease outbreak has already claimed more than 400 deer across the state.
Most of them were in counties along the Illinois River.
DNR officials say hunters who spot dead deer can report them to the state, and help researchers zero in on the counties hardest hit by EHD.
