CLAY COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person was injured in an accident that occurred on Sunday morning in Clay County.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on Edgewood Road at Dismal Creek Bridge at 7:30am.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 35 year old, Randall Gregory, of Chatham was traveling northbound on Edgewood Road and was traveling too fast for conditions.
Gregory lost control of the vehicle around a curve and left the roadway, traveled approximately 300 feet, and went down and embankment.
The vehicle came to a rest in Dismal Creek.
Gregory was taken to Clay County Hospital by Clay County Ambulance for treatment.
He was cited for driving while under the influence of alcohol, traveling too fast for conditions, and not wearing a seat belt.
