SPRINGFIELD, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Illinois lawmakers may not have to reinstate the death penalty to get a waiting period on assault rifles.
Governor Bruce Rauner’s office yesterday said his criminal justice proposal may not be a “take it or leave” proposal.
A Rauner spokeswoman said the legislature has plenty of time to consider the governor’s comprehensive package, but added that the governor’s office is willing to take things one step at a time.
