HEARTVILLE, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Three people were injured in an accident that occurred on Friday afternoon in Heartville.
According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of US Route 45 and Sunset Drive at 3:35pm.
The release stated that a vehicle driven by 33 year old, Tonya L Bannick, of Effingham was traveling southbound on Route 45.
Behind the Bannick vehicle, a vehicle driven by 27 year old, Tayler A Polk, of Effingham was also traveling southbound.
The Bannick vehicle was stopped in traffic, when the Polk vehicle failed to stop and struck the rear of the Bannick vehicle.
Bannick and two juvenile passengers in the Bannick vehicle were taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Polk was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
