Effingham, Il – If you’re looking to lose weight and lose it quickly, U.S. News & World Report recently named the HMR® Program the “Best Fast Weight-Loss Diet” of 2018.
Health Management Resources, or HMR, has earned this award for three consecutive years and is now being offered by HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital at the Opilka Family Wellness Center in Altamont.
Unlike the majority of weight loss-programs, HMR requires minimum food amounts, rather than maximums.
The HMR program includes a simple diet combined with high-intensity lifestyle intervention.
Program participants meet weekly with a registered dietitian/health coach, eat meal replacements, and are medically supervised if necessary.
“Successful weight loss is not only about losing pounds quickly, it’s about creating changes around eating and physical activity that you can sustain over the long term,” says Brooke Welcher-Miner, St. Anthony’s Health Educator and Coach.
“By keeping the plan simple, people can lose weight quickly while building the skills they need for long-term weight management.”
HMR’s proven methods are based on more than 30 years of research and weight-loss coaching experience.
Participants can expect to lose one to five pounds each week, depending on various factors such as which diet plan they choose to follow, initial weight, amount of physical activity, age, and gender.
If you are interested in learning more about this new weight management plan, HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Weight Management hosts free informational sessions weekly about the HMR Program on Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. or Noon, and Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m.
Sessions are held in the Lower Level Classroom of the Opilka Family Wellness Center located at 5 East Cumberland Road in Altamont.
