(Springfield, IL) — The top man at the Illinois Department of Transportation is bragging about the state’s newest bridges. I-DOT Secretary Randy Blankenhorn wrote an open letter in yesterday’s “State Journal Register” in Springfield that touts the bridge building effort in the state. Blankenhorn says the new Savanna-Sebula bridge and the I-74 bridge in the Quad Cities area are examples of how the state is getting it right. Blankenhorn says the new bridges are the most visible of Illinois’ critical infrastructure spending, which he says must be maintained.
