(Champaign, IL) — A twice-fired Champaign police officer is a step closer to getting his job back. An arbitrator ruled in favor of officer Matt Rush yesterday. Rush lost his job because prosecutors didn’t feel they could call him as a witness. The arbitrator said that’s not enough of a reason to fire him. But Rush is still off the job after being fired again for flashing his gun and badge at a local bar. An arbitrator is set to rule on that case January 18th.
