(Chicago, IL) — According to the latest numbers, Illinois is losing population faster than any other state. New estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show that in the year that ended July 1st, Illinois lost 37-thousand-508 people, more than any other state. It’s the third year in a row that the state has seen a net loss in the number of residents. Governor Rauner reacted by renewing his call for pro-business reforms, claiming they’ll encourage growth and stop the exodus. A pro-union group called Illinois Working Together says Rauner’s budget crisis is making the population drain worse.
