The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce launched its new mentoring program on Friday at their monthly luncheon. According to Chamber President Norma Lansing, the new Business Outreach Center program seeks to “fill a gap” in available services for small businesses in Effingham County. Some of the advantages for participating businesses will include mentoring and networking.
Dan Woods, an Executive CEO Coach at Vistage Worldwide, who is helping to organize the program said that it’s essential for mangers to know when they need help. A good mentor can provide that insight.
“There’s a lot of different ways to be mentor” Woods remarked. The Chamber will be seeking experienced individuals to act as mentors for the program, as well as clients looking to grow and improve their businesses.
The chamber’s goal with the program is to make customized plans to help businesses with their unique needs and create a network of knowledgeable mentors. Woods said that the program is just another example of how the Effingham Chamber of Commerce “continues to be outstanding.”
