Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Another heat wave is sweeping over the area, and it will be with us for most of the week.
Despite meteorological autumn beginning on Tuesday, summertime will remain in full force for the week. Afternoon heat index values of 100-105 degrees are likely, only falling into the mid 70s at night. Such an extended period of heat can adversely affect anyone with prolonged exposure.
A Heat Advisory goes into effect at 1pm today and will remain in effect through Thursday. Be sure to stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks if you must be outside.
