Jeanne Sue Alsbury, 76, of Farina, Illinois passed away at 5:50 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Jeanne was born on November 18, 1949, in Salem, Illinois the daughter of Edwin and Eva (See) Denny.
Throughout her life, Jeanne was known for her dedication and kindness. When she was able, she worked as a waitress, a role through which she touched the lives of many with her friendly demeanor and attentive care. Her work ethic and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Jeanne had a deep love for gardening. She found solace and happiness in tending to her flower beds, with a particular fondness for growing Iris. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing nature and patience, blossoming under her careful attention as a beautiful reflection of her personality.
Above all, Jeanne cherished the time she spent with her family. The bonds she fostered with her grandchildren brought her immense joy and fulfillment. She was a devoted grandmother whose affection was evident in every moment shared. Jeanne also held a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, whose companionship was a source of comfort and happiness throughout her later years.
Jeanne is survived by her son Mike (Trinity) Alsbury of Farina, 3 grandchildren Cordel Alsbury, Bret Alsbury, and Matthew Alsbury.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents.
It was Jeanne’s wishes for cremation and no services will be held at this time. The McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
