Brownstown, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Brownstown Board of Education met in Regular Session on Monday, June 19, 2023.
Approval was given for the following:
- Payment of building operational costs from both the Education Fund & the Building Operations/Maintenance Fund
- Adopt resolution establishing the Imprest Funds for the 2023-24 school year
- Thad McElroy as the Designated Person for Abestos Management
- Retain Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk, and Guenther, Ltd. for legal counsel
- IASB PRESS Plus Service Agreement
- Library Service Agreement with ILLINET
- Agreement with the Vandalia ED/BD Program
- Contract with CADY Business Technologies for telephone support services
- An intergovernmental agreement with PCG-Public Consulting Group for the 2023-24 school year
- Scholastic Risk; North Wayne; Ramza Insurance; and Diamond Bros as the District property/casualty insurance carriers
- WCSIT as District workers compensation insurance carrier
- Administrator salaries for the 2023-2024 school year
- Accept bid from Midwest Service Group to complete asbestos abatement project at Brownstown Elementary School
- Adopt amended 2022-2023 school calendar
- Accept the final 2022 Tax Levy and Extension
The Board employed the following for the 2023-24 school year:
- Vanessa Peters; 4th Grade Teacher
- Michele Hoyle; JH Language Arts Teacher
- Alisha Chaney; 1:1 Aide for BHS
- Caleb Atwood; HS Baseball Assistant Coach
- Tracey Evans; Brownstown Elementary School Principal
The Board accepted the following resignation:
- Katie Richter; Elementary Teacher
- Brad Koonce; District Maintenance/ Custodian
- Brady Philpot; HS Baseball Assistant Coach
- Dana Pasley; JH Girls Basketball Head Coach
A Public Hearing was held on the 2022-2023 Amended Budger. The Board adopted the Amended Budget for the 2022-2023 school year.
