Glen Ellyn, IL-(Vandalia Radio)- Four candidates vying for the Illinois Republican nomination for Governor met for the final time to debate before the June 28th Primary Election.
The group featured self-proclaimed outsider Jesse Sullivan, State Sen. Darren Bailey, businessman Gary Rabine, and former lawmaker Paul Schimpf. The group was asked how they’d govern with a General Assembly that likely has a Democratic majority, as former Republican Governor Bruce Rauner had to.
Paul Schimpf laid out his plan for combating the issue.
Bailey leaned on his experience as a lawmaker and the relationships he said he built.
Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin and Attorney Max Soloman both turned down invitations to participate.
