
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)-The Effingham City Council is set to meet on Tuesday, June 7th at 5:00pm.
The following items are on the agenda:
- Recognition of Charity Higgs as Employee of the Year
- An Ordinance amending the appointment ordinance, appointing Lawrence J Thies as Emergency Management Agency Coordinator, replacing Dave Budde who has retired
- A Resolution authorizing the execution of an Inter-Governmental Grant Agreement with the State of Illinois, Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to allocate $1,464,019 in grant funds to cover bondable costs associated with the design/engineering and construction improvements to Thies Avenue and 1100th Avenue (Airport Road)
- A Resolution authorizing the execution of a project authorization with Milano & Grunloh Engineers, LLC in the total amount of $12,000 for construction engineering services for the Boos Detention Basin Outlet Pipe Project
- A Resolution accepting the lowest responsive quote from Core & Main in the total amount of $127,190 for West Virginia Avenue water main replacement materials
- A Resolution accepting the lowest responsive proposal with a base bid plus alternative 1 in the total amount of $562,694.90 from Kieffer Bros. Construction for the Heritage Avenue Extension Project
- Discussion of an Ordinance authorizing the purchase of real property, as well as the acquisition of a temporary construction easement from Cornerstone Christian Church of Effingham, Inc. in the sum of $644 for the Boos Detention Basin Outfall Project
- Discussion of a Resolution authorizing the renewal of the City’s employee medical/health insurance plans and rates for the 2022-2023 insurance year
- Discussion of a Resolution granting permission to allow city streets to be closed for Village Wine’s Thursday Thunder event on July 7th
- Discussion of a Resolution authorizing renewal of a contract with Outfront Media for the St Louis, MO billboard
- Discussion regarding ICLAND Holdings requesting a change to the Sale of Real Estate Ordinance
- Discussion regarding W.S. Broom and Co. seeking funds through the Tax Increment Financing District Downtown/Southtown Business Area Redevelopment Program for a rehabilitation project

- Discussion regarding WCR Enterprises, Ltd has submitted a proposal to explore amendments to the Effingham/Effingham County Enterprise Zone
- Bid lettings for Jefference Avenue Storm Sewer, Boos Detention Basin Outfall, Industrial TIF Water Main, and 2022 Hot/Cold Mix Program
