Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Severe storms on Thursday evening brought storm damage and flooding to locations in our listening area.
According to the National Weather Service, multiple locations within our listening area experienced flooding and wind damage from Thursday evening’s storms.
The following locations had reported heavy rains/flooding:
- 2.63 inches in Greenville at 9:17pm 5/19/2022
- Marion County Dispatch reported minor flooding of several roadways within the county. Main roads with reported flooding included parts of Highway 50 and Highway 37.
- 1.87 inches in Watson at 4:00am 5/20/2022
- 1.62 inches at Effingham County Airport at 8:35am 5/20/2022
- 1.49 inches in Effingham at 7:00am 5/20/2022
- 1.52 inches in Teutopolis at 9:45pm 5/19/2022
- 2.35 inches in Teutopolis at 7:30am 5/20/2022
- 1.54 inches in Jewett at 8:31am 5/20/2022
- 2.33 inches in Newton at 12:00am 5/20/2022
- 1.86 inches in Newton at 8:30am 5/20/2022
- 1.78 inches in Yale at 7:00am 5/20/2022
- 2.60 inches in Robinson at 8:00am 5/20/2022
- 1.25 inches in Clay City at 6:00am 5/20/2022
- 2.10 inches in Palestine at 7:00am 5/20/2022
The following locations had reported wind damage:
- 6:14pm reported structural damage in Keyesport 5/19/2022
- 6:31pm medium tree limb down in Salem 5/19/2022
- 7:03pm power outages reported in Funkhouser, Effingham, and Lake Sara. At least one power line reported to be down. 5/19/2022
- 7:15-7:20pm 60mph winds reported in Effingham 5/19/2022
