In a rematch of the semi finals of the NTC Tournament, it was senior night for Altamont. Windsor / Stew-Stras was a little late to the party (literally) and Altamont picked up the win 51-45.
The game started with the senior starting five of Noah Klimpel, Tyler Robbins, Mason Winn, Will Schultz and fan and player favorite Bryce Suckow. You couldn’t have scripted it any better, as Suckow made a layup to start the game. Suckow would even pull down some rebounds too. The Hatchets would weather the senior night emotional storm as the game would be tied at 12 after one.
The game would continue to go back and fourth trading leads quite a few times. Both offenses would be slowed down by each other zones. It was W/SS who would take the lead into the locker room as Carter Chaney would make 4 from beyond the arc in the half.
Altamont would change the game in their favor in third quarter. After a 50/50 lose ball, Schultz broke out of the pack and hit a layup. Robbins and Avery Jahraus would both make 2 threes a piece after that . Altamont would outscore W/SS 20-11 in third quarter.
Chaney would make a couple of threes in the fourth giving him six on the night. But it was free throws down the stretch from Mason Robinson and Robbins for the 51-45 win.
Altamont finishes the regular season 24-6 and 6-2 in the NTC. Indians will begin regional play on Saturday at home against CHBC.
W/SS finishes the regular season 23-6 and 4-3 in the NTC regular season. Stew-Stras will be at home as they host their own regional it begins on Saturday as well vs Edinburg .
