In a rematch of the opening round of the NTC tournament the result on this night was the same as it was a couple weeks ago, an Indians victory…Of course to clarify it was Altamont who toke this one 51-39.
Just like the matchup in the tournament the game started out slow for both teams but when both teams got going the threes started to fall. Altamont’s Noah Klimpel and Neoga’s Brady Reynolds and Paci McClure all made threes. It was Altamont who pulled ahead just slightly 15-9 after one.
The second quarter started off with Altamont going on a 7-0 run and the threes would continue to fall for Altamont. Klimpel would knock down another and Avery Jahraus would come into the game and knock down a pair to give Altamont a 25-16 lead at the half.
A couple more threes out of the locker by Reynolds kept Neoga in it but it would be another three from Jahraus, add in a couple of post baskets by Eric Kollmann gave Altamont the 39-28 lead after three.
McClure who scored 8 in the first half was held in check by the Altamont defense in second half. Altamont would close it out going 7 for 9 from the charity stripe to win the game 51-39.
Altamont improves to 21-5 on the season and are back in action on Friday at home against St Elmo Brownstown.
Neoga falls to 14-12 on the season.
