Clay City, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Clay County Health (CCH) Clay City Clinic held their open house to celebrate their new location behind Dollar General in Clay City yesterday at 4pm.
There was a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony, give-a-ways, door prizes, and hors d’oeuvres. The staff at the clinic gave tours of the new facility after the ribbon cutting.
This location behind Dollar General is much bigger than their old location right behind Casey’s in Clay City, allowing for more patients and parking space.

Both Bev Drake and Derek Warren of Cromwell Media attended the open house.
You can call the clinic at 618-662-2131 to get more information on their new location.
Staff Q&A:
1- Why did we decide to have a clinic in CC in the first place?
- The goal of opening the Clay City Clinic was to provide high-quality, convenient care to the residents of Clay City and surrounding areas in a location that was close to home.
2- What year did we open there?
- Opened in March 2016
3- Why did we decide to build?
- Since its inception in 2016, the Clay City Clinic has been successful. We had been operating out of a temporary structure and, through the growth of our behavioral health program, had outgrown the space. With the Hospital in a good financial position, it was time to invest in a permanent structure that will be home to services for many years to come. Groundbreaking was held on April 28th.
4- Current services.
- See flyer attached.
5- Future plans?
- With the new facility now open, we are looking forward to the opportunity to offer expanded services to the community. Destiny Dannells will be a great asset and will be able to offer a full range of primary care services to patients of all ages. Dr. Klingler, a pediatrician, will also be offering pediatric-specific services one day per week. In the area of behavioral health, our Providers have identified a need to provide group therapy services and support groups for many different diagnoses and topics. This building is equipped with the space to expand our current individual programming and begin offering these services. The clinic currently operates four days per week and one of our goals is to increase services and be open five days per week in the near future.
