Washington, DC -(Effingham Radio)- If you were planning to rent a car for the upcoming holiday weekend, you might be out of luck if you don’t have a reservation.
Triple-A says most companies sold off their fleets when the pandemic began as a way of getting through tough times when people weren’t traveling. Now, when they’re ready to buy again, they can’t because of the semiconductor shortage that’s holding up production of new cars.
Andrew Gross with Triple-A says many popular tourist destinations are in short supply and left tourists scrambling.
