Suitland, MD -(Effingham Radio)- More than a third of Americans show signs of clinical anxiety or depression — or both — amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Data from the Census Bureau released last week reveals the psychological toll of three months in isolation with effects on employment, housing, finances, education and health. Anxiety and depression appeared to be higher in young adults, women and the poor.
Mental health experts say the government has a responsibility to address the problems exposed by the survey and researchers warn of a rise in suicides and substance abuse if they don’t.
