Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- New modeling from the University of Washington is predicting less-than-expected strain on Illinois medical centers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Researchers are also revising death estimates in the state downward.
The state is expected to have enough ICU and regular hospital beds, but will likely still experience a shortage of ventilators.
Illinois health officials haven’t responded to the UW projections.
