MATTOON, IL- (Effingham Radio)- The following has been released by the Mattoon Police Department:
November 28, 2018
- Mattoon Police arrested Susan E. Sayers, 55 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Battery. The arrest occurred on 11/28/2018 at 12:00pm in the 2200 block of Prairie Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 11/28/2018, police were called to the 2200 block of Prairie Ave, regarding a battery report. Upon arrival, police learned Ms. Sayers had been violent towards two male subjects for the past several hours, and that she had just allegedly pushed one of the males. Ms. Sayers was taken to the Coles County Jail.
November 29, 2018
- Mattoon Police along with the East Central Illinois Drug Task Force arrested Joseph J. Vingara, 36 years of age of Charleston, IL, for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. The arrest occurred on 11/29/2018 at 1:34am in the 100 block of Miller Rd in Mattoon. The charge is a class X felony, and alleges that on 11/29/2018, police located Mr. Vingara setting in the passenger side of a vehicle stopped at the BP Gas Station located at 100 Miller Rd. Police knew Mr. Vingara to be wanted out of Coles County for a court order violation stemming from a 2017 Possession of Controlled Substance charge. Vingara was arrested and a search of the vehicle revealed Mr. Vingara to be in possession of approx. 2 ounces of Methamphetamine “Ice”, just over $5,000.00 in US currency, as well as suspected LSD and Cannabis. Mr. Vingara was taken to the Coles County Jail.
