Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On June 19, 2018, the South Eastern Illinois Drug Task Force (SEIDTF) obtained seven arrest warrants through the Marion County States Attorney’s Office pursuant to multiple drug investigations conducted in the area. The offenses included Delivery of Methamphetamine and Delivery of Controlled Substances.
On June 20, 2018, the South Eastern Illinois Drug Task Force (SEIDTF), the Salem Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, the Centralia Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force (SIDTF) arrested six of the individuals. The names are not being released at this time due to the pending investigation.
The membership of the SEIDTF is comprised of the Illinois State Police, Salem Police Department, Flora Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
The cases will be prosecuted by Marion County State’s Attorney Bill Milner.
The public is reminded that, under law, a defendant is presumed innocent of a charge until proven guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt, to the satisfaction of a jury.
