YUMA, AZ-(Effingham Radio)- The national E.coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce is claiming more lives.
The FDA announced yesterday that the death toll has risen to five and a total of 172 people have become ill from the infection.
The outbreak has reached 32 states.
Possible sources of the contamination are still being investigated, but the lettuce from Yuma, Arizona has been processed out of the food supply and is no longer available to the public.
