(Springfield, IL) — Nearly three dozen of Illinois’ smaller counties are in-line for their share of a half-million-dollars in state emergency grants. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency yesterday announced grants for 32 county emergency management offices, and all are smaller counties in downstate Illinois. IEMA Director James Joseph says the money will pay for everything from laptops, to phones, to radios, to whiteboards for emergency operation centers.
