State Sen. Kyle McCarter is on the offensive again regarding state legislation tied to the Grand Bargain. McCarter likened legislation that would allow for new casinos across the state to a weight-loss scam. “Getting in shape physically is a difficult thing,” McCarter said. “But you know there’s always a late-night gadget that you can strap around your waist and shock yourself or whatever it is, if you believe it works.”
McCarter said that more casinos was not the healthy way for the state grow out if its financial woes. He suggested cuts and reform instead. “We need to make those tough choices and be honest with people as to how much we can do for them, how much money we can spend,” McCarter stated.
