The Illinois State Police District 12 has recently released the law enforcement activity figures from the month of August. The troopers for District 12 were called 232 times for service and had initiated 1,694 incidents while in the field.
Law enforcement figures show that 827 citations and 794 written warnings were issued during the month of August. Of these, 482 citations were for speeding, as well as 15 DUIs, 64 seat belt citations, and 9 child restraint violations. 251 written warnings were for speeding and 47 criminal arrests were made. The troopers also conducted 297 motor carrier inspections and had investigated 59 crashes. They also investigated two fatal vehicular accidents.
During the month of August, 476 of the citations and 754 of the written warnings were violations of the “Fatal Four”. The “Fatal Four” is the four most common causes of fatal vehicular accidents. These are speeding, driving while under the influence, failing to wear a seat belt, and distracted driving.
