Five were injured in an SUV crash at 5:17 Saturday morning on I-70 near milepost 76 in Fayette County after the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
31-year-old Brittni P. Elliot, of Fairfield, Ohio, was heading westbound in I-70 when she swerved into the median to avoid a deer. After striking the gravel in the median, Elliot lost control of the vehicle and drove back across the roadway and down onto the shoulder where it hit ditch and overturned one time, landing upright. There were four passengers in the vehicle, 32-year-old Greg G. Elliot, of Fairfield, Ohio, and three juveniles ages 4, 8, and 10.
One of the juveniles was ejected from the vehicle due to not wearing a seat belt. All five passengers were transported to Fayette County Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Brittni Elliot was issued a child restraint citation.
