The Cardinals came back from down 6-1 but ended up losing 7-6 to a Joey Votto walk-off home run.
The Cardinals got on the board first with an Adams RBI single in the fourth. The Reds came back in the bottom of the fourth with a Duvall 3 run home run and a Cabrera sacrifice fly to take a 4-1 lead. The Reds then added on in the seventh with a Hamilton solo home run and a Cozart RBI single to take a 6-1 lead. The Cardinals came back with a Díaz sacrifice fly and a two run double by Peralta to make it 6-4. Carpenter added two more runs with a double in the ninth to make it 6-6. Joey Votto then homered in the bottom of the ninth to win the game for the Reds 7-6.
Siegrist took the loss in relief. Cardinals starter Mike Leake pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 6 runs on 10 hits while striking out 5. Cingrani got the win in relief. Reds starter John Lamb pitched 7 and 1/3 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5.
