The Chicago Cubs have recalled South Central High School graduate Spencer Patton. The right handed pitcher started the season in Triple-A Iowa where he has struck out 17 batters over 10 scoreless innings,
Patton will replace Neil Ramirez on the active roster. Ramirez was placed on the bereavement list due to a death in his family.
Patton was acquired by the Cubs this offseason when they traded minor league second baseman Frandy Delarosa to the Rangers in November. Patton was a 2011 24th round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals.
