A woman from Hickory Hills, Illinois in Cook County is facing four charges in Fayette County for aggravated battery of a peace officer as well as a charge of theft under $500. The charges against 25-year-old Olivia D. Aguilar allege that she knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature to a Vandalia Police Officer and a Fayette County Corrections Officer without legal justification, and that she did so knowing that both individuals were officers of the law.
Each count of aggravated battery to a peace officer is a Class 2 Felony. Aguilar also faces a Class A Misdemeanor theft charge. She has been appointed a public defender and is set for her first appearance with counsel and a preliminary hearing on May 3. Aguilar remains in the Fayette County Jail on $15,000 bond.
