Effingham, Ill. (Mattoon, Ill.) – A 14-year-old female admits to allegations in midst of today’s hearing in Coles County Court.
As reported by the Journal Gazette & Times Courier’s, Jarad Jarmon, “The charge against the juvenile alleged that she had made a terrorist threat of gun violence toward Mattoon High School on Snapchat at approximately 3:33 p.m. Feb. 22.”
Jarmon continued on saying, “It was indicated in the hearing that she will be detained until her sentencing.”
“I am going to kill you all. You better be scared,” the message read, according to information released during the hearing.”
It was later revealed that if the incident were to occur, no one would know when it was coming.
In a previous report, after the initial arrest, the allegations were confirmed as a hoax.
Allegedly the girl admitted to police she made the threat out of boredom, as reported by JG&TC.
Her sentencing hearing has been scheduled for April 19.
Coles County State’s Attorney, Brian Bower, was contacted for further comment however there was not an immediate response.
