Effingham, Ill – A three-man team of Ameren Illinois linemen brought home some hardware from the 34th Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo, Oct. 14, in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
A crew from California finished first with a time of 39.96 seconds.
The Lineman’s Rodeo attracts the best linemen from around the world to compete in events based on traditional lineman tasks and skills.
“We like to refer to it as the Olympics for linemen – the best of the best from around the country safely competing for bragging rights,” said Craig Gilson, senior directors of Division Operations North for Ameren Illinois.
All Ameren Illinois linemen dedicated their performances this year to the memory of Marvin Morey, who put his heart and soul into supporting this event year after year.
