A Casey man was injured in an accident that occurred at the intersection of Clark County Road 950N and County Road 150E at approximately 7:15am on Friday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, 42 year old, Korey L. Montgomery, of Casey was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier and was stopped at the northbound intersection of County 950N and County Road 150E. At the same time, 69 year old, Mark E. Hotze, of Teutopolis was driving an International semi tractor/trailer and was traveling westbound just east of the same intersection. Montgomery failed to yield and pulled into the path of Hotze. Unable to stop, Hotze struck Montgomery, whose vehicle was pushed into the north ditch where it came to a rest. Montgomery was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign for treatment.
Korey Montgomery is being charged with failure to wear a seat belt, failure to yield at an intersection, driving revoked, no proof of insurance, and expired registration.
All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
