No Budget Plan Yet In Springfield

(Springfield, IL)  —  The latest attempt at a state budget is on hold in Springfield.  Leaders in the Illinois Senate yesterday introduced, then abandoned a plan they hope will lead to a new state budget.  The idea is to trade a few business reforms for a tax increase and a lot of other pieces lawmakers have asked for over the years.  Everything from new casinos to a bailout for Chicago teacher pensions and a higher minimum wage.  Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno says the hope now is to give lawmakers and the governor a starting point.
