A downtown Effingham Tradition is returning Friday night to W. Jefferson Avenue. The first Cruise Night, in many years, will take place from 6-10 p.m. on and around Effingham’s downtown square. The event features vintage rides, food, door prizes for cruisers, and live music from the Jed Adams Band.
As part of the Cruise Night route, from 5-10 p.m. Jefferson Avenue between S. Walnut Street up to the old courthouse will be a two-way. The route will start at Martin’s IGA, proceed west down Jefferson to the old courthouse and then back up Jefferson to Martin’s. Beginning at the old courthouse, Jefferson will return to a one-way up to N. Third Street.
Anyone can cruise in any vehicle. Participants are reminded to be safety conscious when on the cruise route.
