Along with Federal and State officials, the Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club will be naming sections of I-55 after Trooper Layton T. Davis and Trooper Frank Doris, both of whom were killed in the line of duty. This is the second phase in a two-part project to honor the fallen Illinois State Troopers from District 12.
The dedication of the signs will be held at 9:30am on Monday, June 20th at the State Police Memorial on the Old Courthouse lawn. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Effingham County Building. State Representative David Reis will make the presentation along with State Representative John Cavaletto, State Senator Dale Rider, and the assistant to State Senator Kyle McCarter. Everyone is invited to join the family members of the troopers in attendance.
