Brandon Moss lead the way with 2 home runs as the Cardinals scored 12 runs beating the Reds 12-7.
The Cardinals got off to a great start with a Matt Adams three run home run in the top of the first to make it 3-0. The Reds came back with an RBI single by Bruce in the bottom of the first. Carpenter added an RBI double in the second to make it 4-1 Cardinals. The Reds got RBI singles from Cozart and Votto in the second to make it 4-3. A Cozart home run in the fourth tied the game up at 4. Moss hit a two run home run in the fifth to make it 6-4. Barnhart had a solo home run in the fifth to make it 6-5. Moss had his second home run of the game in the seventh and Garcia added an RBI single in the seventh to make it 8-5. The Cardinals added more runs in the eighth first with a Piscotty RBI single followed by a Peralta three run home run to make it 12-5. The Reds scored two runs in the ninth with RBI’s from Phillips and Duvall to make it 12-7.
Garcia started for the Cardinals but didn’t factor into the decision. Garcia pitched 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 13 hits. The Cardinals bullpen however only gave up 2 runs and 2 hits. Bowman was credited with his first career win. Simon took the loss falling to 2-6 on the year. Simon gave up 6 runs on 7 hits while striking out 3 and walking 5 over 5 innings.
