Chicago, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Illinois is establishing a flood rebate program. Governor Pritzker signed legislation that authorizes local home equity assurance programs to provide financial relief to eligible homeowners whose homes are damaged by flooding.
The measure provides eligible households a one-time rebate covering up to 50-percent of qualifying flood-related expenses, with a maximum rebate of one-thousand-dollars. Pritzker says this aid was in response to the Trump administration denying FEMA assistance for Illinois residents impacted by major storms that brought record rainfall and severe flash flooding across the state last year.
