Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On April 6, 2027, the City of Effingham will hold an election for the purpose of selecting a Mayor (4-year term) and four City Commissioners (4-year term). Any registered voter of the City of Effingham who wants to file as a candidate may pick up nominating petitions and packets in the City Clerk’s Office on or after August 25, 2026.
Signed nominating petitions must be filed in the City Clerk’s Office between 8:00 a.m. on November 16, 2026, through 5:00 p.m. on November 23, 2026.
The City Clerk’s Office is located in City Hall, 201 E. Jefferson in Effingham. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
