
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Administrative Committee met on Monday and discussed remaining Opioid Funding, intergovernmental agreements, and items for the new fiscal year.
An update on the opioid funding listed the remaining balance in the fund at $127,954.62, and Sheriff Kuhns said that there have been more people utilizing the MAR program through the Sheriff’s Office. He said the funding is being put to good use.
In new business, the Committee approved at $150k agreement with the City, County, and 911, with Sandi Rich abstaining from the vote. The committee approved the FY27 holiday schedule, and approved the rest of the closed session minutes from their last meeting to be released, and was sent to the full board for final approval.
The Committee also approved a few appointments:
- Teutopolis Fire Protection District – Ryan Witges (8/17/2026 – 5/6/2029)
- Lucas Drainage District – Mike Garbe (9/1/2026 – 9/3/2029)
- Island Grove Drainage District – Tim Jansen (9/1/2026 – 9/3/2029)
- South Island Drainage District – Joe Thoele (9/1/2026 – 9/3/2029)
- St. Francis Township Drainage District – Dennis Niemerg (9/1/2026 – 9/3/2029)
The Health Department also said they are still looking to hire an RN or LPN. Interested applicants should contact the Effingham County Health Department.
