Randy Spray, 74, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away on August 2, 2026, at Casey Rehab and Nursing Center in Casey, Illinois.
Randy was born on March 26, 1952, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of John D. and Eleanor J (Johnson) Spray. He married Charlotte Bloomingburgh on December 28, 1973, Herrin, Illinois, and she survives.
A visitation for family and friends will on Thursday, August 6 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Toledo Christian Church in Toledo, Illinois. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM the Marion Christian Church rural West Salem, Illinois with a visitation for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will at the Marion Cemetery immediately following the service. Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois. Memorial may be made to the Oblong Children’s Christian Home in Oblong, Illinois or the Oil Belt Christian Service Camp in Flora, Illinois, Toledo Christian Church in Toledo and Marion Christian Church.
Randy had a strong Christian faith and was a long time Elder at the Scott Avenue Christian Church and the Toledo Christian Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He served on the Board of Directors for the Oblong Children’s Christian Home and a lifetime member of the OOIDA (Owner/Operator Independent Drivers Association). He was a truck driver for many years and had a very strong work ethic and loved being outdoors. He spent a lot of time reading and studying and would often help tutor his grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his wife of 52 years Charlotte Spray of Greenup, Illinois, sons Scott (Sheryl) Spray of Stewardson, Illinois, Michael Spray of Greenup, Illinois, grandson Lane (Brooke) Spray of Tuscola, Illinois, granddaughter Jayla Gilbert, great grandchildren Javien and Jasper of Rantoul, Illinois, brother John Spray of Albion, Illinois, sisters Anita Newlin of Greencastle, Indiana, Janet Hayes of Lindale, Texas and Nancy Greathouse of West Salem, Illinois.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Spray and brother-in-law Howard Newlin.
