Fayette County, IL-(Vandalia Radio)- A young child has died after a drowning incident at a rural Fayette County residence.
In a report from the Fayette County Coroner’s Office it states that on Friday evening, July 31st, Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris was contacted by Sheriff Ronnie Stevens in regards to a possible drowning of a young child. The report states the child was transported to SBL Fayette County Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
The young child was from Centralia but the incident occurred at a rural Fayette County residence.
The report says that due to the ongoing investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office no further information is being released at this time.
Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris reports the drowning death of this child has been determined to be accidental.
