Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Effingham Unit 40 support staff have a new three-year contract.
The Board of Education approved the agreement with the Effingham Educational Support Professionals Association, retroactive to the 2025-26 school year. It includes five-percent pay increases in each of the three years, along with health benefits.
Superintendent Andy Johnson told the board current enrollment is 2045 students, with total enrollment expected to reach about 2300, similar to last year’s close.
The board also approved insurance coverage for property, casualty, cyber, and workers’ compensation at $505,490, about $23k higher than last year. Members also spent just over $30k on transportation software devices for buses and approved an amended budget showing a $263k deficit.
The Board also announced recent personnel moves.
