
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Severe weather is likely this evening into tonight, and it could bring up to 100mph winds with it.
Multiple rounds of severe storms are likely on through tonight from mid-afternoon through the evening. There is a Moderate Risk (level 4 of 5) of severe storms roughly I-72/Danville northward, with an Enhanced (level 3) to Slight (level 2) encompassing the rest of the region. Strong tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail are all possible.
These storms will be capable of producing 2″ or more of rain in a short amount of time. This may lead to scattered flash flooding, especially near and north of I-74. If you encounter flooded roadways, turn around, don’t drown!
