Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Senate Joint Resolution 61 sponsored in the Illinois House by State Representative Blaine Wilhour of Beecher City, was adopted in the House Transportation: Regulation, Roads & Bridges committee and will now head to the House floor.
The resolution designates the Fourth Street-Interstate 57/70 Overpass in Effingham as the “Chief Warrant Officer 2 Christopher Donaldson Memorial Overpass”.
Chief Warrant Officer Donaldson was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum N.Y., died May 5, 2006 when the CH-47 Chinook helicopter he was traveling on crashed during combat operations east of Abad, Afghanistan.
Donaldson was born in Effingham on May 17, 1977 and graduated from Effingham High School in 1995.
