Charles “Bob” Robert Dilley, born August 16, 1955, passed away on April 30, 2026, surrounded by the legacy of a life defined by service, strength, and deep love for his family.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant (E-7). His commitment to duty, discipline, and honor carried through every aspect of his life, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Beyond his military service, Bob was a man who found joy in the simple things-riding his motorcycle, spending time with family, and especially cherishing moments with his children and grandchildren. His presence was strong, steady, and unforgettable.
Bob was married to his high school sweetheart, Carol Dilley, whose love remained a cornerstone of his life until her passing in 2013. Together, they built a family rooted in resilience and loyalty. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol and his son, Chuck Dilley, who passed in 2024.
Bob leaves behind a large and loving family, including his fiancé, Connie Voudrie, with whom he shared a loving relationship, the two reconnected after knowing each other in grade school and spent the last two years building a life filled with love and companionship; his daughter, Amy (Keith) Garrison, who carries forward his legacy of strength and devotion; his grandchildren: Chrystina Remley, Zach Garrison, William “Trey” Fox, Chrystal Haynes, Laura Holcomb, Jacob Bright, Aubrie Dilley and Carter Dilley, and his great-grandchildren, Sebastian Bright, Charles Bright IV, Claire Remley, Noah Remley, Elsie Garrison, Elias Garrison, Cadence Haynes, and Zion Haynes.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow in Mound Cemetery with military honors by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Many have asked how they can support the family during this time. Bob will be remembered for his unwavering toughness, his quiet loyalty, and the deep love he held for his family. His life was one of service, sacrifice, and enduring impact. He will be deeply missed and forever honored.
