Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is indicating plans for a travel ban expansion that could impact nearly a dozen additional countries. Secretary Noem shared the Trump administration’s plan which follows a deadly shooting against National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. and said, “the President is continuing to evaluate countries.”
Noem cited government instability in the targeted countries as the reason why the ban would be imposed, but did not provide specifics on the exact number of countries that would be added to the list. The expansion would add to the list of 19 countries already banned by the Trump administration which includes Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti, Somalia, and Venezuela.
